This is the Coffee House Wall for this week. I won’t say that it is your chance to communicate with us, as we are all in this together. It is, nevertheless, the Conservative Blog post that has no particular theme, and where everything is on topic. Let’s just remember that we want to avoid ad hominem attacks on others. We don’t want to engage with trolls. We want to moderate our language ourselves as responsible and mature adults, choosing to use fruity language only where it is necessary. This is our opportunity to show what the Spectator Coffee House Wall could have been like.

  1. What do Muslims have to do to convince us that they hate us and will never integrate? Honour killings, rape gangs, wife beating, electoral fraud, terror threats… Whatever they do, our liberal elite just don’t seem to get the message.

    In his speech on upping the threat level Cameron stressed again how important it is to make a distinction between Islam the religion, and the “poisonous ideology of Islamism”.

    No such distinction exists except in the wishful thinking of liberals.

  2. I spent the day up near Rotherham yesterday. I was in the countryside and it was still England. It is our urban centres which have been taken over and subverted, and it is the urban governing class which has permitted it. Not far away England still exists.

    This isn’t meant to be ironic, Baron for one would find life less bearable if he couldn’t have haggis with bacon, eggs almost every morning, haggis and the whole can of Heinz beans at least once a fortnight, and a roasted chicken stuffed with haggis every week or so, … and a solid measure of single malt (more than one glass one glass even better) every evening before turning in.

    For this alone, the blue veined barbarian hopes Salmond loses later this month. But you are unquestionably right about the three ghastly me of recent (and present) times.

    Just contrast the two recent fron-page stories, the longer-than-a-decade abuse of vulnerable young people going either unnoticed, or being ignored by absolutely everyone, not one single agency of the State has done FA, and the MSM kept quiet about it, that’s on the one hand;

    on the other, the whole might of the NHS bureaucracy, a county police force, the EU law enforcement agency, the Spanish police, all chasing after a family that has done nothing wrong, wants to go about a business of finding the best treatment for their son. And the MSM, including the ghastly BBC cannot even report it truthfully.

    The whole of the public sector seems to be not fit for purpose – overstuffed, overpaid, over-regulated, and most importantly, lacking common sense.

    HM Revenue and Customs has returned the Tax Return of a man in Manchester after he apparently answered one of the questions incorrectly.

    In response to the question: “Do you have anyone dependent on you?” The man wrote:

    “2.1 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million drug users, 4.4 million unemployable Jeremy Kyle scroungers, 900,000 criminals in over 85 prisons, plus 600+ idiots in Parliament and the entire European Commission.”

    The HMRC said that the response he gave was unacceptable.

    The man’s reply back to HMRC was: “Who did I miss out?”

  22. I see a report that says that white British children will be outnumbered in English schools by 2037 because immigrants have such a higher birth rate, as well as continuing to migrate to the UK. That’s just 23 years. My new grandson is only 12 weeks old. Will he live in a country where he is absolutely a minority!?

    The case of this poor child is typical of the gross evil rampart in this country. Medical staff busy ticking forms, and so up-themselves that they think their standards are the best in the world. Believe they know better than parents, and mostly a waste of time and space. The police are too busy chasing soft targets (innocent citizens) and ignore the real criminals, who have the police chiefs and local government on their pay roles. Must be good profits in child sex slavery! I wrote to Theresa May and have received a standard reply (written by someone with an African name) saying that as the case is ‘ongoing’ they cannot comment. No doubt, soon we will be happy to learn that lessons have been learned. The receptionist who reported the family to the police in Spain deserves to be taught a lesson she will never forget, but I fear she is enjoying her fifteen minutes of fame and cashing in on her betrayal of a tragic family. Please G-d, let the lad either regain true health or at least be spared pain and suffering.

    Anne the answer to your question is simple, these people do not assimilate, and they do not join in with our national pastimes and pursuits.

    Just look at the huge crowds who go to Pop Festivals almost 100% are white, similarly with concerts, musicals and the theatre not many if any are of the religion of peace (joke)

    There are hundreds of thousands who follow country pursuits, horse riding, hunting, course fishing (angling) and fly fishing, hiking, rock climbing, bird watching and much, much, more and these who are foreign to us never attend.

    Visit any English Pub and non will be found.

    I am a member of a Wood Turning group with upwards of seventy five members, some time back we applied for a National Lottery Grant, we were asked “what was the group’s ethnicity” when we replied 100% middle-aged white males we were refused the grant but we did eventually get the grant when we pointed out we would take members of both sexes from any ethnicity but only old white men joined.

    They truly wish to live as they would in the tribal lands of Pakistan.

    We should help them to go and find their wishes.

    David, I agree with all your comments but I am still worried. The devils wont come as single families here and there, they will move in en masse. They will most likely received government assistance to ‘assimilate’ and ensure the ethnicity statistics are as the liberal PC creeps desire. As an example, in West London, areas which were at least 99% white working class, have been colonised by creatures such as Abu Hamsa’s family. My grandparents had a house on a decent working class street since before the First World War. Today that street has been taken over by Pakistani shite, and what is especially bitter is that the Fulham & Hammersmith Council encourage this. Young, white couples are not offered public housing there, but soemhow there is always room forthese aliens.

  31. The Police were quick to set up a help line so people could call them and accuse Jimmy Savile and other entertainers of committing various acts of indecency. Why is there no central helpline so that those who have been assaulted by Pakistani men over the last decades can call and report their accusations. This would surely make it easy for the police to report to the press how many thousands and tens of thousands of British children have been abused.

    Such Wallsters believe, though they have not argued it out, that ‘defence of the real’ is maximised by maximum surveillance of the population by security forces coupled with the maximum withholding of information pertaining to said security forces’ activities and thus maximum absence of accountability.

    Thus the possible withdrawal of kettles and lawnmowers from the state’s panoply of conduits to the citizen’s voiced thoughts is seen as a dangerous weakening of resolve and preparedness – a threat, in effect, to the defence of the realm.

    All that is required if for someone with basic common sense in authority to pick up a phone and talk to counterpart of a similar ilk in Spain , withdraw all officious and overbearing legal bollocks, release the parents and reunite them with their sick child. A case conference can then be convened to plot the best course of treatment.

    Consider for instance the following:

    FROM: Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS)
    SUBJECT: Ukraine and NATO

    We the undersigned are longtime veterans of U.S. intelligence. We take the unusual step of writing this open letter to you to ensure that you have an opportunity to be briefed on our views prior to the NATO summit on September 4-5.

    You need to know, for example, that accusations of a major Russian “invasion” of Ukraine appear not to be supported by reliable intelligence. Rather, the “intelligence” seems to be of the same dubious, politically “fixed” kind used 12 years ago to “justify” the U.S.-led attack on Iraq. We saw no credible evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq then; we see no credible evidence of a Russian invasion now. Twelve years ago, former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, mindful of the flimsiness of the evidence on Iraqi WMD, refused to join in the attack on Iraq. In our view, you should be appropriately suspicions of charges made by the US State Department and NATO officials alleging a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

    President Barack Obama tried yesterday to cool the rhetoric of his own senior diplomats and the corporate media, when he publicly described recent activity in the Ukraine, as “a continuation of what’s been taking place for months now … it’s not really a shift.”

    Obama, however, has only tenuous control over the policymakers in his administration – who, sadly, lack much sense of history, know little of war, and substitute anti-Russian invective for a policy. One year ago, hawkish State Department officials and their friends in the media very nearly got Mr. Obama to launch a major attack on Syria based, once again, on “intelligence” that was dubious, at best.

    Largely because of the growing prominence of, and apparent reliance on, intelligence we believe to be spurious, we think the possibility of hostilities escalating beyond the borders of Ukraine has increased significantly over the past several days. More important, we believe that this likelihood can be avoided, depending on the degree of judicious skepticism you and other European leaders bring to the NATO summit next week.

    Experience With Untruth

    Hopefully, your advisers have reminded you of NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s checkered record for credibility. It appears to us that Rasmussen’s speeches continue to be drafted by Washington. This was abundantly clear on the day before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq when, as Danish Prime Minister, he told his Parliament: “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. This is not something we just believe. We know.”

    Photos can be worth a thousand words; they can also deceive. We have considerable experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on all kinds of satellite and other imagery, as well as other kinds of intelligence. Suffice it to say that the images released by NATO on August 28 provide a very flimsy basis on which to charge Russia with invading Ukraine. Sadly, they bear a strong resemblance to the images shown by Colin Powell at the UN on February 5, 2003 that, likewise, proved nothing.

    That same day, we warned President Bush that our former colleague analysts were “increasingly distressed at the politicization of intelligence” and told him flatly, “Powell’s presentation does not come close” to justifying war. We urged Mr. Bush to “widen the discussion … beyond the circle of those advisers clearly bent on a war for which we see no compelling reason and from which we believe the unintended consequences are likely to be catastrophic.”

    Consider Iraq today. Worse than catastrophic. Although President Vladimir Putin has until now showed considerable reserve on the conflict in the Ukraine, it behooves us to remember that Russia, too, can “shock and awe.” In our view, if there is the slightest chance of that kind of thing eventually happening to Europe because of Ukraine, sober-minded leaders need to think this through very carefully.

    If the photos that NATO and the US have released represent the best available “proof” of an invasion from Russia, our suspicions increase that a major effort is under way to fortify arguments for the NATO summit to approve actions that Russia is sure to regard as provocative. Caveat emptor is an expression with which you are no doubt familiar. Suffice it to add that one should be very cautious regarding what Mr. Rasmussen, or even Secretary of State John Kerry, are peddling.

    We trust that your advisers have kept you informed regarding the crisis in Ukraine from the beginning of 2014, and how the possibility that Ukraine would become a member of NATO is anathema to the Kremlin. According to a February 1, 2008 cable (published by WikiLeaks) from the US embassy in Moscow to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, US Ambassador William Burns was called in by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who explained Russia’s strong opposition to NATO membership for Ukraine.

    Lavrov warned pointedly of “fears that the issue could potentially split the country in two, leading to violence or even, some claim, civil war, which would force Russia to decide whether to intervene.” Burns gave his cable the unusual title, “NYET MEANS NYET: RUSSIA’S NATO ENLARGEMENT REDLINES,” and sent it off to Washington with IMMEDIATE precedence. Two months later, at their summit in Bucharest NATO leaders issued a formal declaration that “Georgia and Ukraine will be in NATO.”

    Just yesterday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk used his Facebook page to claim that, with the approval of Parliament that he has requested, the path to NATO membership is open. Yatsenyuk, of course, was Washington’s favorite pick to become prime minister after the February 22 coup d’etat in Kiev. “Yats is the guy,” said Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland a few weeks before the coup, in an intercepted telephone conversation with US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt. You may recall that this is the same conversation in which Nuland said, “Fuck the EU.”

    Timing of the Russian “Invasion”

    The conventional wisdom promoted by Kiev just a few weeks ago was that Ukrainian forces had the upper hand in fighting the anti-coup federalists in southeastern Ukraine, in what was largely portrayed as a mop-up operation. But that picture of the offensive originated almost solely from official government sources in Kiev. There were very few reports coming from the ground in southeastern Ukraine. There was one, however, quoting Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, that raised doubt about the reliability of the government’s portrayal.

    According to the “press service of the President of Ukraine” on August 18, Poroshenko called for a “regrouping of Ukrainian military units involved in the operation of power in the East of the country. … Today we need to do the rearrangement of forces that will defend our territory and continued army offensives,” said Poroshenko, adding, “we need to consider a new military operation in the new circumstances.”

    If the “new circumstances” meant successful advances by Ukrainian government forces, why would it be necessary to “regroup,” to “rearrange” the forces? At about this time, sources on the ground began to report a string of successful attacks by the anti-coup federalists against government forces. According to these sources, it was the government army that was starting to take heavy casualties and lose ground, largely because of ineptitude and poor leadership.

    Ten days later, as they became encircled and/or retreated, a ready-made excuse for this was to be found in the “Russian invasion.” That is precisely when the fuzzy photos were released by NATO and reporters like the New York Times’ Michael Gordon were set loose to spread the word that “the Russians are coming.” (Michael Gordon was one of the most egregious propagandists promoting the war on Iraq.)

    No Invasion – But Plenty Other Russian Support

    The anti-coup federalists in southeastern Ukraine enjoy considerable local support, partly as a result of government artillery strikes on major population centers. And we believe that Russian support probably has been pouring across the border and includes, significantly, excellent battlefield intelligence. But it is far from clear that this support includes tanks and artillery at this point – mostly because the federalists have been better led and surprisingly successful in pinning down government forces.

    At the same time, we have little doubt that, if and when the federalists need them, the Russian tanks will come.

    This is precisely why the situation demands a concerted effort for a ceasefire, which you know Kiev has so far been delaying. What is to be done at this point? In our view, Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk need to be told flat-out that membership in NATO is not in the cards – and that NATO has no intention of waging a proxy war with Russia – and especially not in support of the ragtag army of Ukraine. Other members of NATO need to be told the same thing.

    Absolutely nothing to disagree with in the letter. It echoes the findings of the OCSE observers Baron was telling you about. Even now, they haven’t reported on any Russian military crossing the border. They’re either asleep, or there are no military units from Russia moving across the border. But, as the letter says, the Russian tanks will roll in if the pro-Russian troops need them.

    The other aspect that’s not reported here is the presence of young Russian recruits in east Ukraine, men who haven’t been fully trained. The TV station ‘the Rain’ is full of it, and they’re unquestionably right, they have the mothers of these recruits talking. The only explanation Baron can come up with is that it’s a part of their training (one of the officers said so). However, pushing them under fire even at the final stage of their military training seems hugely irresponsible, for this alone the KGB colonel should be pilloried, but for some reason nobody in the West picked on it.

    Baron’s rather surprise nobody has commented on shale gas angle, Biden junior, the Ukrainian oligarch Kolomoyisky (in short Kolo) military units fighting the pro-Russian rebels, guarding the drilling sites around Donetsk. He, Kolo has had some of his assets frozen in Moscow today, reports the Rain, a Russian court is looking into his assets in Crimea, too.

  81. Mr. Alexander Boot offers his views on the crisis centred on Ukraine in his piece posted 1st September on his website. As the fate of Europe and elsewhere may turn on decisions taken in Newport this week,his article is timely and it would be prudent to consider what he has to say. Whether Mr. Boot has had the opportunity to read the views of the “dissident” veteran United States intelligence officers posted by me at 13:22, I do not know.

    Russia is famously “a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma” and so are the conclusions of Mr. Boot’s piece. In so far as he is willing to declare himself without ambiguity, he appears to join those who would “call the West to arms” over events in Ukraine. This appears based on a view that:
    1. Russia has never been more economically and demographically weak;
    2. Therefore Russia has never been more dangerous; and,
    3. Therefore Russia “may well see” conquest of Europe as a way out of her difficulties.

    Mr. Boot therefore appears to be up for war, but I may be maligning him as his bets are somewhat hedged. Even if he is of the war party, he would argue that those who do not see the necessity, like it or not, are Putin’s dupes.

    These are serious matters.

    Mr. Boot entitles his article “Useful idiots are out in force, armed with moral equivalence and ‘realism’” and focuses on one “idiot” in particular to make his case, a Professor John J. Mearsheimer of Chicago University. The veterans of U.S. intelligence have already in my view made what can be taken as a more than adequate counter to Mr. Boot in their piece at 13.22 yesterday on the score of who is to blame for the crisis.

    The question whether Russia is as weak demographically and economically as Mr. Boot suggests and weak to the point that it is desperate “to busy giddy minds with foreign quarrels” and embark on an attempt at the conquest of Europe as a solution to its plight is hard to accept on two grounds. First, a war with NATO is unlikely to result in a significant increase in its population… and secondly, Mr. Boot’s view takes no account of the developing economic axis of Germany, Russia and China. Whether that axis might in due course threaten Europe is another question but has little to do with the immediate ambitions of NATO in Ukraine and the concerns there of Russia.

    Given the figures for the EU in the EUReferendum vacuum cleaner regulation article:
    TWH/year saved = 19
    kWH/year/household used = 3300

    and the following figures:
    EU population = 500,000,000 people
    EU household = 3 people (estimate)

    We get:
    kWH saved in EU / year = 19,000,000,000
    kWH saved/person / year = 38

    Energy saved = 3.45% of household consumption

    I don’t think we use 3.45% of our household electricity on vacuuming, let alone being able to save that amount by not having a super-boost on our cleaner!

    I suspect this figure is much, much too large! And not all households will have purchased the more powerful cleaners, or use them. For example, we have a less powerful, and lighter, cleaner that we keep for upstairs.

    Also, a vacuum cleaner does not work at full power unless it is having a hard time sucking, such as on thick carpet. On wooden floors and other smooth hard surfaces the power consumption would be a lot less. It is the same as with cars: they consume more fuel when accelerating than cruising at the same speed.

    And while all saving is to be admired, it has to be balanced with what is lost. Apart from slightly less clean carpets, we have lost more of our freedom.

    I just do not believe their figures, like their windmill economics.

    I would suggest that banning cars engines greater than two litres would make greater energy savings, but they might take it up.

    In particular, Ms. Phillips analyses the subversion of the theology of the Church of England, of which of course the Queen as Defender of the Faith is head.

    When I visited Canterbury Cathedral in January 2013, I noticed and was disturbed by a prayer for Palestinians. Ms. Philipps makes clear what that prayer reflected in the minds of the Church of England hierarchy and what had become “the steady Islamization of the Church”.

    The article is a long one. I will just quote one passage:

    “The essential problem, says Canon Andrew White [Anglican vicar of St George’s Church, Baghdad], is the lack of will in the church to face the difference between Judaism and Islam. “They don’t want to recognize that their faith comes from Judaism,” he said. “They talk instead of the ‘children of Abraham’ as if we are all in it together. The reality is, however, that although Islam and Judaism have a lot in common in terms of customs, they are as far apart as Christianity is from heathenism.”

    As a result, the Church of England is conniving at an obnoxious historical revisionism. Muslims claim not only that they inhabited the land of Israel before the Jews but also that Islam was somehow the real Judaism before the Jews corrupted their own religion. The Koran says Islam came before Judaism and Christianity, and was the faith practiced by Abraham, who was a Muslim (3:67–68). It refers to Islam as the religion of Abraham many times (2:130, 135; 3:95; 4:125; 6:161). Islamic tradition teaches that it is Ishmael, not Isaac, whom God orders Abraham to sacrifice. It teaches that Jews and Christians corrupted their scriptures, so Allah sent a fresh revelation through Mohammed. This cancelled out Judaism and Christianity and brought people back to the one true religion of Islam that Abraham had practiced.”

    I am sorry to say that as long as she tolerates this theological perversion, Queen Elizabeth must be held responsible and has allowed the monarchy to be thrown into politics of the most dangerous kind.

Coming with the latest outrage of the beheading of an 82-year old woman, I feel very sad, angry and above all frustrated that daily things get worse and the powers that be are it seems in connivance. Regarding the Queen, she is now elderly and since she doesn’t involve herself beyond matters of ‘tradition’ we must, it seems, count her out. Prince Charles, I think, and hope I am wrong, is attracted to Islamic ‘culture’ and religion, so no hope from that quarter. The future, at this moment doesn’t appear very bright.

  134. I’ve just finished re-reading George Orwell’s book, 1984.

    The parallels between the changes that are already in place in Britain and Orwell’s description of the development of the “Big Brother” society are very disturbing indeed.

    The “Ministry of Truth” for example brings to mind the BBC.

    The “Big Brother” organisation and the clique composed of the Liberal, Tory and Labour parties also sound remarkably alike.

    Many details of life under the Big Brother regime sound familiar. As an example, this sentence in chapter IX, of Part 2 –

    “This day-to-day falsification of the past carried out by the Ministry of Truth, is as necessary to the stability of the regime as the work of repression and espionage carried out by the Ministry of Love.” “Ministry of Love” sounds to me uncannily like the Commissions and Tribunals and others who so energetically administer and control the “Human Rights” industry.

    This sentence is also from Chapter IX –

    “All the beliefs, habits, tastes, emotions, mental attitudes that characterise our time are really designed to sustain the mystique of the Party and prevent the true nature of present-day society from being perceived.”

    Orwell wrote that society under the Big Brother regime consisted of three elements – the Inner Party, the Outer Party and the Proles. In many ways the Proles in 1984 are freer than the two classes above them because despite their being by far the more numerous, they can be left alone because they are are not united and have no power and so are regarded by the regime as people of virtually no consequence whatsoever. Is that not very much like the attitudes of the politicians in our main parties today – as well as the attitudes of people who don’t even bother to vote?

    1984 divides the world into three groups – Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia. Oceania of course is the group that Orwell’s book is about and the Big Brother regime is based on the philosophy that he calls Ingsoc. This sentence in Chapter IX strikes me as dismally accurate –

    “….in each variant of Socialism that appeared from about 1900 onwards, the aim of establishing liberty and equality was more and more openly abandoned.”

    That sentence was followed by this –

    “The new movements that appeared in the middle years of the century, Ingsoc in Oceania, Neo-Bolshevism in Eurasia, Death-Worship as it is commonly called in Eastasia, had the conscious aim of perpetuating UNfreedom and INequality……. but the purpose of all of them was to arrest progress and freeze history at a chosen moment.”

    Ponder that for a moment and then for “Eastasia” substitute “The Islamic Caliphate” and for “Ingsoc” substitute “Common Purpose”.

    I urge people to read “1984“ even if they read it many years ago. It contains many more parallels with the 20th and 21st century. It may cause sleepless nights, but I think it demonstrates that Orwell really does deserve the title of Prophet.

    As for western Ukraine, I think Putin will be entirely happy to see it become dependent on the E.U. because the E.U. will waste even more stupendous amounts of money trying to prop it up.

    And that, in turn, will accelerate the disintegration of the European Union. Putin certainly wants that because it will give Russia a greater feeling of security.

    And to my mind disintegration of the E.U. will – despite what Cameron, Clegg and Milliband believe – benefit Britain too.

Contrast that with the atrocities committed in the name of Islam not centuries ago but today, (say) the ISIS debauchery in Iraq and Syria. No linking between the two is ever admitted, no causative relationship is ever conceded. More to the point, any suggestions of any such relationship is vehemently denied, those offering such an explanation silenced with shouts of ‘you’re being judgmental’ at best, or ‘you’re racist’ at worst.

    I have practically given up on the terrestrial channels, nothing but how to bake a cake or paper the wall. There was an exception the other night on BBC Two, a programme on ancient Egypt presented by Dr Joanne Fletcher. What made it so enjoyable is that Fletcher is an acknowledged expert in her field and not some ignoramus reading an autocue plastered with inaccuracies which is what you get on most such programmes, It is repeated tonight and worth a watch.

    As for footy, don’t get me started, neither those playing nor those supposedly in charge and who select them for these international games seem unable to grasp the whole point of these tournaments is not an excuse for the team to go on the lash. In Rome, chariot racing was the sport of choice. There were two teams, the blues and the greens who enjoyed fierce support, there were no Queensbury Rules, riots between supporters were common place, almost obligatory and the top drivers were millionaires.   177. Disorder has broken out among detainees at an immigration centre in Lincolnshire.

    Staff at the Morton Hall centre in Swinderby have withdrawn from the building to a “place of safety” and emergency services are at the scene.

  188. The Moscow TV station ‘the Rain’ has got a breaking news story about a member of the Estonian Secret Service arrested in the Pskov region (that’s in Russia). The Estonian Foreign Ministry hasn’t yet said where they believe the guy was arrested, but maintain that he was on an assignment to catch smugglers.     And it seems the panic has really set in as the ‘Yes’ vote takes the lead in the polls. Not really a surprise as only Labour could possibly want to keep Scotland in the Union. Well, they’ll never win an election south of the border again, will they? So Milliband is finally provoked to comment – we’ll need border posts! Once again, he demonstrates what a prat he is. Didn’t he watch the pictures from Calais? Doesn’t he know what’s happening in the US/Mexico deserts?

    The UK won’t just need border posts, it will need fences, electrified and backed with minefields and gun-towers. Gunboats will need to patrol the waters. The African hordes will swarm into Scotland and the whole of the border area will become an enormous Calais. Scotland will have neither the manpower nor the cash to stop them. Nor the political will.

    So let the boy David spell it out in words every Scot can understand. You will need papers to enter the UK; every vehicle coming south will be searched, no matter how long it takes, no matter how much it disrupts Scotland’s economy; unidentified ships will be sunk and all trawlers will be boarded and searched – no papers and the boat will be impounded, the crew returned and the boat destroyed; anyone trying to cross the border other than at a checkpoint will be treated as an invader and shot on the grounds they might be IS terrorists; all illegal aliens in the UK will be assumed to have entered from Scotland (unless they can prove otherwise) and returned at gunpoint.

    And no, you can’t use the pound other than on the ‘Panama’ basis.

    If they want to go it alone, let them. But properly alone, outside the EU, NATO – basically, the civilised world because, knee-deep in aliens, they’ll soon reach the third-world status they deserve.

    Simon Danczuck is one of the few Labour MPs with any credibility, mainly because of his book on Cyril Smith and the fact he has spoken out (if only a bit) about the UK epidemic of Muslim paedophile rape.

    I don’t know what to make of it all.

    Part of me dislikes Tory and Labour MPs joining UKIP.

    It smacks of the losing boxer bear hugging the opponent to avoid being smashed into oblivion.

    I don’t really want to see a situation where it’s ‘Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.’

    There is also an article by the atrocious Jacob Rees Mogg begging for a deal with UKIP.

    The Carswell situation is possibly different in that it helps UKIP to nick something of the Tories. This time the Daily Mail and Telegraph cannot smear, so they are under orders to downplay the story from Lynton Crosby.

    But doing deals with scum like Jacob Rees Mogg is going to put people off UKIP.

    They are taking huge numers of Labour voters with them as well as former Tories.

    As an upstart party, they cannot afford to lose that cross-party voter defection they’re getting.

    It has been hard enough to get to this stage.

    Remember the endless smearing of UKIP in the Euro elections.

    For those who have never been on the recieving end of our Pravda-like media, that really was a wake-up call as to how spiteful the Barclay Twins and the evil Rothermere are.

This suppresses their support as it makes it easy to claim that a vote for them is a wasted vote.”

    It is also aided and abetted by the BBC. They control media output so much that only ‘their kind of politician’ gets a chance.

    It isn’t that UKIP, or any other party with the problem, have no MP’s in the HoC to vote, as their couple of votes would be swamped by the majority, which has happened most of the time to minority parties for centuries. The problem is that they do not have a voice in the MSM, so the public are not exposed to differing opinions. There are many parties, in addition to UKIP, but all we get are Labour ministers, ex-ministers and shadow ministers, left-wing academics, director-level QUANGO-crats and other BBC opinion formers talking between themselves.

    Come to think of it, it’s the same people every time!

    Perhaps, even more important, is that the established parties would be ‘encouraged’ to change if the discussions on TV and radio were more varied.

    So many ideas for Proportional Representation hand over power to the political parties, like the EU elections, and I do like the idea of knowing who represents me, so FPTP is still my favoured option!

    However, having a few non-constituency seats for parties that have just missed being elected might be a good idea, though they should go to the nearly successful candidates, not party picked favourites.

    It is less wasteful for an existing party to change tack than create a new one, but sometimes circumstances require it to happen and wastefulness does not come into it. And it is not as if we have a lack of change at the moment.

    I think that it needs to be done on an individual by individual basis, but those realising that politics will not be handing out wealth to the non-deservers but tacking the counties debt will be weighing up the changes. They will have to change their world view, and possibly their lifestyle. They will also need fire in their belly as the country will be expecting it!

    I do wonder, therefore, if many will take up the challenge. There should be plenty of evidence to help with the decision making.

    If I understand him correctly, Black believes that extremism will always fail of its own accord because a population that is subjected to it – and revolutionaries themselves who install a regime that uses extremism – will always ultimately reject it. That is a powerful argument and the French rejection of extremism following the excesses of their revolution is certainly an example of revolutionaries themselves rejecting extremism. But does that necessarily always happen?

    To my mind, Cambodia is an example both of the powerlessness of an oppressed population when subjected to complete ruthlessness – and of the revolutionaries themselves failing to turn against the excesses. If the figures are correct, Pol Pot’s regime murdered 25% of Cambodia’s population and even after that, his regime was replaced not by Cambodians themselves, but by war following intervention from outside Cambodia.

    What stands in the way of Islam permanently continuing to produce both leaders and fanatics of the kind now comprising ISIS and who are apparently quite as ruthless were Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge followers? To my mind that is a formidable barrier not only to Islam undergoing a complete reformation, but of ever being capable of it.
