This is the Coffee House Wall for this week. I won’t say that it is your chance to communicate with us, as we are all in this together. It is, nevertheless, the Conservative Blog post that has no particular theme, and where everything is on topic. Let’s just remember that we want to avoid ad hominem attacks on others. We don’t want to engage with trolls. We want to moderate our language ourselves as responsible and mature adults, choosing to use fruity language only where it is necessary. This is our opportunity to show what the Spectator Coffee House Wall could have been like.
Please consider supporting the Coffee House Wall by making a donation of whatever amount, to fund the running of the site using the Paypal donation button provided.
Your support is needed, without it the Coffee House Wall can’t function. Please consider a donation of even just £5.
Let’s Boot off the week in the same way that the last one closed:

Really tired of reading the news and seeing the PC garbage on TV. When I’m not reading I am resorting to doing giant jigsaw puzzles. Apologies if this has been mentioned on the Wall before, but I’ve not seen it.
Has anyone been catching the rehabilitated Gaunty (Jon Gaunt) doing daily podcasts?
Started from scratch six months ago “broadcasting from his spare bedroom in his grundies”. He’s been fired more than once from various radio stations, including the BBC, for speaking his mind – frequently on subjects dear to Wallsters – and he hit podcast number one hundred AND EIGHTY yesterday. It’s been so successful that financial backing has piled in and this morning Talk2MeRadio (Internet radio, there is an app) was launched. Ten ’til one initially, just Gaunty, other presenters lined up for the future.
The point is that being internet radio it is unregulated, no Ofcom etc., and it might equally have been called free speech radio. This morning he had Paul Nuttall from UKIP and Raheem Kassam of Breitbart on, no doubt others of interest, I’ve only heard part of it. Catchable later as a podcast.
Sorely needed, and a breath of fresh air.
Michael Roberts 12.56
Good isn’t he. Listened to him for years. But the podcasts are great.
A way to avoid being controlled by the broadcast regulations.
Listening from podcast number 1, and am pleased to say I have fed him lots of infomation
The Islamic state of dewsbury was one he used endlessly after I sent him all the details of the book of the same name and advised him to read it.
Like him or loathe him (as he puts it) he’s the only one saying what we think on air.
MSM don’t want to know.

Not even in his most accommodating dream would have the barbarian ever imagined a day would come when he, unreservedly, sees an issue the way the omni-all Mr. Boot does. This is the day.
Mr. Boot is so right, the move by the Mutti who’s been the staunchest opponent of the Turks joining us till now, is sickening, and it shows you who truly runs the fugging EU outfit, not the overpaid gnomes of Brussels, the Germans do, their current Führer does.
What pisses is this. She lets the refugees flood it, bask s in the glory of a modern Mother Teresa, the Nobel trinket in sight, then she says ‘other Eu countries will have to share the burden’. Arghhh.. And as if that were not enough, she promises to the Turks, amongst other things, that the EU, meaning the Mutti, will think again about their membership of the club.
She also pays a visit to Istanbul, she’s there now, to boost Erdogan’s chances to get more than the 42% of the the vote he needs to amend the constitution, begin ruling the country as a dictator backed by law.
The woman must be mad, Mr. Boot’s spot on saying few millions of the Syrians would be bad, but 80mn Turks suicidal. A re-birth of the Ottoman Empire, perhaps?. The grandsons of Mehmed must still be walking the streets of Istanbul.
And there’s more to it. The three countries Turkey borders with down south are Syria, Iraq and Iran. The borders are totally porous, anyone can just walk over if he knows how, and the jihadists do know how. Many of those escaping the Russian pummelling today are finding sanctuary in Turkey, the country that has trained them in the first instance. Many others may sneak into Turkey in the months, years ahead, find their way to Europe. Lunacy.
The only silver lining Baron could see on this repugnant move by the Mutti is that hopefully, the good burghers of this country would say ‘out’ when the voting comes.
Michael, John:
How does one get the site address, the app? baron has tried, cannot find it. Plenty of stuff about it, but the station address nowhere. Help, please.

You recall the criticism of the riches of the former Ukrainian president, the one kicked out by 24 armed thugs last year in February? His house, the fittings, the cars? Here you can see the dacha (country retreat) of Poroshenko, the current corruption free president of the country. It was filmed by an Ukrainian newspaper, is still is aired in Ukraine, note the number of views.
The MSM poodles of the West covered the corruption of Yankovich in some depth, and rightly so, how come Poroshenko’s corruption seems to have escaped their attention.

More information on the American shelling of the DSF hospital in Kunduz:
Apparently, the bombing was initiated by the Pentagon, a prominent member of the Pakistani Intelligence service was inside, as a patient, the Americans wanted him dead, succeeded, killed 24 others, too.
The doctors moved out, to add insult to injury, in last few days, the Taleban has gained control of the whole of Kunduz, all in all, according to the UN, the Taleban now governs over a bigger chunk of Afghanistan that it did when Bush began its war with the religiously motivated nutters.
Also, the Russians view the continuous presence of the Americans in Afghanistan as a positive move.

You mean the crazed Czech?
He of:
I feel at home with you, when watering the cacti,
the rubber plant, the ivy and the rest.
I must be going then, your putting right my neck-tie,
the breakfast’s over now and you can have a rest.
And when the evening comes, I’m back to our harbour,
the world’s a picture now, you are the golden frame,
with our dogs and cats, the mantel-piece of marble,
for years and years from now it will be quite the same.
Are all Czech poets crazed?
I refer to not only Blatny but his compatriot Ivan Divis.
Perhaps on this day that the Chinese take over Hinkley point we should read:
Talk in the Dark by Denise Levertov:
We live in history, says one.
We’re flies on the hide of Leviathan, says another.
Either way, says one,
fears and losses.
And among losses, says another,
the special places our own roads were to lead to.
Our deaths, says one.
That’s right, says another,
Now it’s to be a mass death.
Mass graves, says one, are nothing new.
No, says another, but this time there’ll be no graves,
all the dead will lie where they fall.
Except, says one, those that burn to ash.
And are blown in the fiery wind, says another.
How can we live in this fear? Says one.
From day to day, says another.
I still want to see, says one,
where my own road’s going.
I want to live, says another, but where can I live
if the world is gone?

Czech folk tradition has developed among the Czech people over a Millennium.Local folklore and poetry are influenced by a mix of Christian and pagan customs and poets through the ages have been subject to political persecution and madness. Havel was an exception rescued from the jaws of insanity.

The barbarian doffs his trilby to you, Fergus, you’re not only a practitioner of the art of poetry, you know your competition, too. It turns out, if you believe a chap named Reiner who recently published a novel cum biography about him, he wasn’t that crazy, cunning rather. Af ter the creation of the NHS, the country was dotted with many small ‘parish’ hospitals, it seems, including institutions for those not right in mind. For him, Blatny, that was ideal, he could do what he wanted, free food, lodgings, pocket money even, no care in the world. It didn’t last, of course, nothing good ever does
And where the hell did you dig the translation that does mimic his style?
Frank P @ 22:18
Unless they translate the unhappiness into votes, Frank, the PEGIDA marches will remain what they’re now, an exercise in flag waving and shouting. The interesting thing is the movement’s by far stronger in the Germany’s east, the Prussians just cannot shake off their militaristic trait.
Fergus Pickering @ 12:57
Havel, who presided over the country for a time, was as implicated in the old regime as were many others still in positions of power today.
He spent time in jail, the communist jail. One of the prison guards who looked after him when he was inside said Havel lived better inside than he, the guard (and virtually everyone else in the thuggery for that matter) outside, drinking French cognac, smoking Cuban cigars, eating caviar…. It was his western friends who were furnishing the goodies, the commies let him have the stuff, he probably shared it with them.
Those who genuinely suffered when the communist monstrosity was ruling the country by and large didn’t get a look in after the regime collapsed, and rightly so because if the communist ruling elites were all to be kicked out, the country would have probably finished the way Iraq has after Bremner (the guy the Americans put in charge after dislodging Saddam) dissolved everything, the Iraqi civil service, the police, the army.
Pity though that at least some of the communist thugs didn’t get clobbered, the ones who broke the communist laws, went over and above what the statutes required – the prosecutors, the prison bosses, the informers. Some are still breathing. The Czechs will pay for this.

ROD LIDDLE
Simon Schama’s migration muddle
Sooner or later, in this trade, one runs out of television historians to antagonise. I am doggedly working my way through the pack — and I don’t think any of the really big ones are left. I began by annoying Mary Beard and then swiftly moved on to David Starkey. Some time passed but eventually I found an opportunity to irritate Simon Schama, on BBC’s Question Time last week. He got very angry and his hands started waving all over the place. Someone on a social media site said he looked like a Thunderbirds puppet controlled by a person with Parkinson’s disease, which is a little cruel, I suppose. Simon ended a splenetic diatribe by calling me ‘suburban’, which raised a few eyebrows and indeed the accusation of snobbery. I do not mind being called suburban, even if I have never lived in the suburbs and I am being called it by someone who actually does (Westchester, in New York State, since you asked). There are many worse things you can call a chap.
As it happens, I enjoy the television programmes through which all three of these luminaries dispense their expertise, especially Mrs Beard’s. I’ve even ordered her new book about the Romans, and I would add that she is excellent company when not spouting blithe bien-pensant drivel about immigration. That was the sort of area which got me into trouble with Mr Schama, who easily out-drivelled Mary. Talking about the ‘refugee’ crisis, the art historian divested himself of a stream of emotionally incontinent non-sequiturs — and it was when I pointed this out that he became incandescent with pique.
The problem, as I saw it, was that Simon had simply not made any sense at all. It seemed to be sufficient to say that these people — the migrants — were ‘human beings’ and that feeling kindly disposed towards them was sufficient, in itself, to solve what many fear is the gravest crisis we have faced since the second world war. Simon — and the others who argue likewise (although technically it is not an argument because they advance no course of action) — insists that our government should ‘do more’. But what precisely, he and the others do not say.
This is not a failing confined to famous television personalities, of course, although as a breed they seem particularly prone to its inanities. What I realised after that edition of Question Time is that the facts, the practicalities, the realities of the situation, do not matter one jot. There is a small minority of British opinion — the polls suggest that the overwhelming majority of the population, suburban scum that they are, do not wish to see more migrants entering the country — which is absolutely impervious to the facts which show that letting more people in the country will make things worse both for them and for us. And clearly anyone who doesn’t agree is unaware that the migrants are ‘human beings’ and is thus a borderline psychopath, as well as being suburban. And yet ask them for a course of action and none is forthcoming.
They spout this rubbish (we must ‘do more’!) without considering the consequences for the migrants or us
But it is the imperviousness to reason that is most striking — and which convinces me that in some strange way they are articulating this ectoplasmic rubbish (we must ‘do more’!) in order to make themselves feel better, without any thought of the consequences for either the migrants or our country.
Eight months ago everybody was very worried about the number of migrants drowning in the Mediterranean sea, en route to western Europe in flimsy boats. The very voluble minority started screaming: we must do more! Send more boats! It was clear to me then — and to many others — that this would only exacerbate the problem, for the migrants and for us. More would drown because many more would set sail, expecting to be picked up. A more sensible solution — to deny access and deport any migrants arriving illegally by sea — had already been tried, and had worked, in Australia.
But we listened to the clamorous minority, despite their lack of reason and logic — and many more migrants have drowned as a consequence. We did the wrong thing. Back then, the lefties insisted that the death of every waterlogged migrant was on the hands of the British government. It wasn’t then — but there is a case for saying that they are now. That all those who set sail because they expect to be picked up, but drown instead, are the victims of western governments which did the wrong thing for supposedly the right reasons.
And again, the imperviousness to reason. A largely Muslim charity recently reviewed the work its people had been doing to relieve the misery and squalor on the Sangatte refugee camp in Calais. A worker with the Human Relief Foundation visited the notorious ‘Jungle’ encampment and concluded, with some alarm, that 97 per cent were economic migrants rather than refugees. Further, they were almost exclusively fit young men who were not fleeing danger at all and were not in the least desperate.
An executive added: ‘I thought they had a valid reason [to be there]. They do not have a valid reason.’ The charity immediately curtailed its relief efforts. But present these facts to those who simply scream ‘Let them in!’ and ‘We must do more!’ and it makes not the slightest difference to their point of view; it washes over them without leaving so much as a trace. Because the migrants want to come here, they must be allowed in — regardless of the effect on the poor in our country, or on all those who wish to migrate here and are following the proper channels. So, as I say — this makes me suspect that the issue is more about them than about the migrants. It is virtue signalling, once again.
Still, I suppose I should stop being on the wrong side of history, or the wrong side of TV historians, at any rate. The weathermen are next on my list.

This is passed to you because a friend of Baron has sent it to him. It shows the foul mouthed man of Russian politics nicknamed Zhirik, full name Zhirinovsky talking, you won’t understand a word of it unless you speak Russian, what is the gathering about Baron doesn’t know, but Zhirik who runs the second largest party in the Duma, is lambasting Putin and his crew on everything from letting businessmen transfer money abroad, to some of them getting jailed because they displease some of his cronies, to what kids at school are taught, their hero is from a book about a young boy, mute and blind, who loves a dog.
Notice the other panel members smirking, Putin showing no emotion at all, the female also stoned faced. Nothing has happened to this chap Zhirik, ever, and this isn’t the only time he’s had a go at Vlad, plenty of other clips exist, but with Putin absent.
Parts of this outburst were shown on the state TV, the commentary critical, of course. The one posting below this clip that has gathered the most upticks, over 400, is favourable to Zhirik, Baron isn’t, never has been. He isn’t the greatest danger for Russia and us, others in his political outfit are.
You may skip watching it, Baron wouldn’t blame you, but do remember when next you hear there’s no opposition in Russia that this clip and other evidence e.g. the Rain, suggest otherwise.

These award winning people are really very good, and their promenade performances are always lots of fun. However, it’s 90 mins with no interval! So if one is intending to indulge in a couple of pre-performance sherbets at the Castle Keep pub then I’d recommend taking along one of David Ossitt’s “four pint receptacles” to avoid Tycho Brahe’s demise! [remember the maths: it’s always (2n +1) ]
Fact: Guildford doesn’t have as many handy fountains as Bruges, Brussels, Rome, Heidelberg, or maybe even Prague… However, from the castle it’s downhill all the Wey.

if you are looking for a muslim connection to the talk talk data theft, then it looks like its chechen muslims are the criminals.
The international banks have a standard to holding credit/debit card data securely, called PCI. If you aint PCI compliant then you cant store credit cards numbers. The must be in a separate secure server away from customer data. So I dont think peoples CC numbers have been made public.
But if I had a CC/debit card number I had told talk talk I think I would ‘lose’ it and ask for a new one from the bank. That will have a new number, CVV code and expiry date.
CVV code.- the 3 digit number on the back of the card.

Well … I covered the hearings on The Hill yesterday from a-hole to breakfast time (literally).
It was an excruciating chore. I can summarise it thus:
1. Billary accused the Republicans of conducting ‘a witch hunt’ – which it was, (but what’s wrong with that when the witness arrives on a broomstick wearing a pointy hat – and after all Halloween is imminent).
2. She blamed the whole Benghazi fuck-up on the Ambassador (“he knew the dangers”) – and his “professional security detail failed to deal with it on the ground in the fog of war”. As was always going to be her get-out-of-gaol card: delegation).
3. “I did not have sexual relations with the man that made the video – or Sidney Blumenthal”.
4. “Lessons were learned from the fiasco and I have been working behind the scenes to beef up security, so that it will never happen again. Moreover, when you elect me (and Bill) as POTUS, we will make sure that we re-engage with the Middle East and sort it out in two terms.” So there!
Meanwhile the ROP rips itself apart and ensures that her offer will be taken up by a largely stupified electorate.
The only hope is that the G-men will be allowed to indict her over her server. A very slim one, given that the HillBillies know where ALL the bodies are buried.

Steyn brilliantly resolved and unmitigating. Political cowardice stalks the land as never before and the cowardly political cowards want to use legislation to shut us up because they are more frightened of an overspill of the sectarian tensions and violence THEY have created through their stupidly reckless and irresponsible “policies” than our anger.
Je Suis Charlie my arse. They are spineless scum who like to bully their own whilst fawning over the prospect of foreign cash.
The Sweden Democrats had 14% in the election of 2014.The last poll gives them 26%;Soc Dems 23%;Moderate Right 21%.
Sweden Democrats are part of the Europe Freedom & Democracy Group in the EU Parliament:UKIP 22 seats,Italian 5 Star Movement 17,Sweden Dems 2;Lithuania Poland,France,Czechia one each.
Colonel Mustard above is right on the money and so is Steyn as usual. Who would have predicted even a few years ago that our leaders could be so weak and useless against what is actually a minor problem? The Steyn piece reminds of another I read today about how the government’s aim of avoiding an “us and them” division between Muslims and the rest of us was resulting in just that. Chilling message
If you ever wonder how ISIS play the internet
This was posted via Onion Routing
This is super complex usage of proxy servers. (A proxy server is a server that relays your connection through that server, which basically adds a step in the path of your data packets. If someone traced your IP address, they’d see it as the proxy server’s IP address instead of your own)
But proxy servers are not anonymous. They keep logs of all the traffic that pass through thus can get back to you your proxy service was hit with a subpoena for your IP information
Onion routing is super complex proxy routing with encryption. Instead of routing through a single unprotected server, it uses a network of nodes that constantly encrypt your data packets at every step
At the end of this chain of “onion” nodes your data become decrypted and sent to in this case Pastebin (revealed on Today). Only this “exit node” is able to decrypt your message and no other node can even see what you’re sending
Serious typo in my 12:16 post. For ‘ROP read ‘GOP’.
A Freudian conflation of RIP and GOP perhaps?
The ROP is tearing us apart!
Gerard Vanderleun updates his 2004 clarion call. Heed ye all who have ears to hear, eyes to see and enough synapses connected to understand. telemachus @ 15:13
More than a treble Gordian knot for the poorly educated Slav, telemachus, but surely the powers that rule over us have enough resources to crack it, no?
Frank P @ 16:57
Baron also claims the membership of the club of pessimists, people who, wearing both suspenders as well as belts, worry still their pants will fall down, but he cannot even comprehend that any world leader today would deploy the nuclear option. It makes no sense, Frank, it would be suicidal, and there surely are other ways how to commit suicide more pleasantly.
Colonel Mustard @ 15:11
It’s a hard one to crack, Colonel, but it’s unquestionably true that the more they know about us, the less freedom we have to do as we please. Today, it may be the jihadists, tomorrow who knows who the target group may be, those of us on this blog?
The deranged killer in Sweden bragged about his racist views, reportedly expressed far-right sympathies online. The security services paid no attention to it, no snooping was needed for them to at least alert other services to look at him. What we need more of is harsh punishment for the evil peddler and doers when they get caught, and that includes the jihadist preachers, too.
More to the point, who can say whether the killer, others like him, the jihadists, too, wouldn’t have done evil things even if snooping were at Full Monty, every conversation (internet, post, phone) were truthfully recorded. What’s there to stop them by-passing the internet, post, telephones and communicate face to face. It may be much slower, but it’s 100% safe.
The analogy doesn’t work fully, but in the past the police relied heavily on informers, no wire tapping and stuff, and it worked quite well, Frank should know more about it. Those who harbour evil don’t go unnoticed by people around them. The farther of one of the Turkish suicide bombers apparently begged the police to arrest him, no snooping was needed, they didn’t, tens of innocent people died.
And as if the earlier ranting were not enough to bore you senseless, here is a rundown of news on Syria compiled from a variety of east European sources. Baron cannot vouch for the accuracy of any of it it, you make up your own mind.
Russian fighter planes operating in Syria have their identification marks, the red star and double headed eagle, covered up. Nobody knows for sure why, two explanations are offered: They have flown in not as military aircraft, or the Russians don’t want to give their adversaries a chance to gloat if any of the fighter planes were to be downed.
What apparently shocked the Pentagon wasn’t that the Russians could fife missiles over 2,500km, but that the missiles were fired from very small vessels (below 1,000 GT). Many US experts are now saying it’s a mistake the US Littoral Combat Ship under development (4,000 GT) is not equipped with long range missiles. The smaller the ship the harder it is to locate and destroy.
Israel would rather have Assad to remain in charge, but they dislike the presence of Hezbollah in Syria, also the fact the Iranians have the Russian built S-300 air defence system which, the Israelis fear, Iran may ship to Syria where it could be ‘taken over’ by Hezbollah who’re fighting with the Iranians against ISIL. To pacify the Israelis, the Russians have despatched the battleship Moscow into the east Med, positioned it near Latakia to provide air security.
It costs the Russian $4mn a day to bomb, far less than the cost of some of the big exercises they’ve conducted since the war with Georgia in 2008 (and the start of modernisation), it’s a fraction of the annual $50bn military budget, according to Jane. The one off cost of the missile firing is estimated at $36mn by the same institute. Even though the Russians claim to be using precision bombing, this isn’t the case according to a retired Russian general Yevgeny Buzhinsky, the ratio of ‘clever’ bombs to ordinary is less than 20%, but it’s for the first time these costly self-guided bombs are deployed.
The combined Russian cum Syrian & Hezbollah forces onslaught on Allepo was apparently leaked to ISIL, they’ve managed to move support to the region from Iraq.
The ISIL forces are mobile, can hide in Iraq, Jordan and Turkey. Those who cross into the NATO member territory are all bussed no unknown locations.
The US is rumoured to be preparing a massive blitz in Iraq, it is to stop the Iraqi President asking the Russians to get involved there, the ruling Iraqi coalition is pushing him to make such a request.
It’s too early to judge whether the Russian intervention will succeed, it could last for up to a year. The Russians have a Duma election next year, Putin’s approval rating has reached the highest level ever after the campaign started, it’s over 90%.
Baron (22:26)
‘It makes no sense, Frank, it would be suicidal, and there surely are other ways how to commit suicide more pleasantly’.
Do you think that the mullahs, who authorise – nay – demand the suicide of others of their ilk ‘to facilitate the will of allah’, would not take precautions in order to avoid being being ‘suicided’ themselves? They have their deep bunkers, just as our leaders had during the cold war, even when the policy of MAD was a comforting factor, because the Russkis and Chinks were not of a suicidal bent.
But the nutters who comprise ‘ISIS’? Do you really think that if they got their hands on a device, they wouldn’t use it?
It’s not pessimism that Gerard projects; its realism! Pessimism is irrelevant and too late for yours truly. In the young, optimism is a duty. At my late and precarious stage of life honesty is more important. Pour encourager les autres. The ‘deal’ between the Septics and Iran could – and probably will – lead to the apocalypse that the deadly cult craves, to facilitate the coming of the universal Caliphate under the Twelfth Imam, or whatever it is that the looney bastards believe. If you don’t think that it’s a strong probability, you are plugging your ears, covering your eyes and rapidly moving your lips with your fingers, whilst making the wubble-wobble, wibble sound. There are times when sang froid is no longer admirable; when the worst case scenario (WCS as we hoary old cops used to call it) must be factored in. National and even civilisational preservation are at stake. Our fucking tresonous elected representatives are in dereliction of that obligation. I cannot share your complacency. We must urge proactivity before it is too late. We either take them on, full throttle and with ruthless resolve or ‘we’ are done for. I would like to include you in the ‘we’. Non?

Frank P @ 03:26
Short but hard hitting polemic, Frank, but then what else from a thinker of your caliber and the top wordsmithing dog on this patch, the poorly educated Slav is still unconvinced though, rather not convinced fully, it’s one thing to brainwash or force others to strap a bomb around a waist, pull a cord, another to spend the entire life in a bunker fearing a dose of radiation may sneak in, kill you slowly and painfully.
Baron reckons that everyone who enjoys power, the limelight, the awe or respect of the crowds or whatever, and that includes every leader in the east west south north, even the Rolex wearing thug in charge of ISIL, would lose this enjoyment, limelight, awe … if holed up in a bunker for life. True, this sounds simplistic to justify Baron’s argument, but he’s found that looking for an explanation of phenomena with massive public implications one often can find an answer in basic human traits, vices, follies of the key players, you know, greed, selfishness, pride, fear, narcissism …..
What is more likely than a leader in the public eye ever pushing the button is a deranged individual, a small group of them, not under the radar, in total secrecy getting hold of some radioactive stuff, flying a plane into a nuclear power station, that sort of things.
Having said all this, Baron has always been in, sadly, he’s as impotent as the rest of us to do much about it, what can one do with the honorary Muslim in charge?
John birch @ 08:15
Soon, the Hungarians won’t be alone standing up to the EU apparatchiks, or the Mutti. The Poles have an election tomorrow, John, not much about it in the MSM here, probably because the Catholic, conservative party (Law and Justice) will get in, and in some strength. Their candidate, Duda, got the presidency of Poland recently.
The female who runs the Law and Justice outfit was picked by Jaroslav Kaczynski (he’s the surviving brother of the two Kaczynskis who established the party decades ago, the other brother got killed in a plane crash visiting Russia). Her name’s Szydlo (an awl in English), and she may well prick the EU immigration policy even more than the Hungary’s Orban. The party’s against immigration, and totally against Muslim immigration.

The only glimmer on the horizon is the remote possibility that Hillary won’t get to be elected POTUS next year, and that The Donald will Cruz to victory… if you pardon the pun. A game changer is desperately required, however in recent weeks you have comprehensively dispelled all the romantic notions I ever had regarding the chances of electoral success for the latter two.
In the UK of today the electoral system ensures that the same cabal will stay in power, regardless of whatever colours they wear, and nothing short of a military backed insurrection is going to dislodge them.
Last last scenario is never going to happen as the UK is now a land where (putting it nicely) the majority of the electorate are ill educated, never been required to think, and have atrophied cognitive abilities as a consequence.
‘We’ are as the violin ensemble on the deck of The Titanic, non?
Baron, I can see that you have not yet lost faith in the basic goodness buried deep in even the most evil specimens among us. Good for you! I’m not intent on depriving you of hope, nor I believe, is Gerard. But one last question in an attempt to underline the seriousness of our predicament. If someone had suggested to you on on September 10th 2001, that tomorrow a group of educated fuzzie wuzzies would hi-jack four airliners and drive two of them into the WTC, one of them into the Pentagon and manage to get the fourth well on its way to the White House before a group of courgeous passengers deliberately attacked the hi-jackers – knowing that it was the last thing they would do, in order to prevent a greater loss of life, what would have been your retort?
Baron – apologies, my last post was aimed at your previous one; I can see that you next one indicates that you have already descended one notch deeper into the abyss and have almost caught up with my speed of descent. ☺

There’s a petition up to stop her talking at some communist-fascist offence-taking training establishment (aka a university) because of her transphobic comment. It seems that the freedom to express an opinion publicly is to be regulated by unelected fanatical extremists of the ‘young and knows fuck all fuckwit’ persuasion.
I have little time for Greer and less time for the other Greer but the general direction of travel when it comes to public figures expressing their personal opinions is unfortunate. If people in a university don’t understand the importance of freedom of expression, diversity of opinion and the exchange of opposing views we are well on the way to a future Idiocracy (except that Cameron & Co have already cornered that market).
PS in case the resident turd dropper is lurking, none of the foregoing applies to his creepy stalking, trolling, deliberate provocations and general turd dropping so no further turds from him are required.

You seem to have confused my comment about Fraser Nelson being fearty of comments with having an opinion about his piece. I’m afraid I didn’t get through it all or draw any conclusion about any conclusion of his. In part because his political stance, like his speech, is somewhat impenetrable.
Generally though I’m suspicious of increased surveillance powers, not least because the resident turd dropper seems to relish them and knows too much about stalking and creeping in upon peoples privacy.
I’m currently reading an old book about the Gordon riots and it is astonishing how far the concept of the free Englishman has been undermined, abandoned or lost. One would think that the sacrifices of the Second World War, more recent history, might have cemented it more firmly in the minds of the idiots who rule over us. But not a bit of it. The Parliamentarians of the late 18th Century wanted no truck with the European imposition of ‘police’ and its implications for snooping and spying. They would turn in their graves at the thought of faceless bureaucrats of any persuasion opening and snooping into peoples private correspondence without evidence or stringent judicial oversight.
I often wonder what the reaction might be if one were able to hop into a time machine, visit the slit trenches in Normandy and tell the Tommy infantry enduring there that in fifty years time they would not be allowed to smoke in pubs in England. I expect they would presume a catastrophe that the Nazis had somehow won the war and occupied England.
In a way they probably have. Certainly the EU puppets in Parliament seem clueless about the birthright liberty and freedom every Englishman inherits, let alone protecting them, content instead to have us regulated, policed and presumed upon like the French or Germans. One might think the history of those countries would cause them a little circumspection. But no, what they are too stupid to value they are too ready to surrender.
The muppets.
In the spirit of reasoned response:
Bernard Hogan-Howe said this before the Party of Cyril Smith thwarted the Data Communications Bill
“Technological progress has given all of us new ways to communicate.
“Of course, it allows murderers, rapists, child abusers and robbers to communicate in all these ways too.
“Put simply, the police need access to this information to keep up with the criminals who bring so much harm to victims and our society.
And Our Home Secretary said this before the Party of Marine SBS Ashdown who should know better on this issue said this
“This is all about making sure that the police and the security services can continue to catch criminals and stop terrorists.
“At the moment what they are able to do is to get access to what’s called communications data(ie phone)… The security service have used it in every counter-terrorism investigation.”
“But in the new world people communicate in different ways. They are no longer using telephones. They communicate over the internet, so we want to update the ability of the police and the security services have to have access to this communications data.”
“It’s not about the content, it’s not about reading people’s emails or listening to their telephone calls. This is purely about the who, when and where made these communications and it’s about ensuring we catch criminals and stop terrorists.”
So we must conclude that proposals are simply to update Police powers to the modern age to prevent these paedophiles and terrorists destroying everything we know

The usual dog whistle scaremongering to impose on the law abiding majority in order to supposedly tackle a law breaking minority.
The real issues are nothing to do with what is proposed from a technical perspective or what is to be combatted but:-
1. The lack of independent/judicial oversight/sign-off to prevent the extent of abuse/misuse which is so far very apparent in the way that “agencies” have operated – basically fast and loose.
2. The astonishing range of “agencies” listed in the Bill which are not all concerned with the pursuit or prosecution of the type of offenders Hogan-Howe describes. As it stands the Bill gives any bureaucrat or jumped up council official the right to snoop.
This secret policeman inspired Old Bill keeps coming back, regardless of which party is in government and the same tired old justifications for it are being trotted out. What are needed are assurances and robust mechanisms to properly address quis custodiet ipsos custodes? and less bluffing of the “nothing to hide nothing to fear”, “trust us”, scaremongering, worst case scenario, emotional blackmail, risk averse kind. Also something is required to address the very woolly and extendable provisions of who exactly can use these powers and for what.
Parliament should be scrutinising this rubbish sceptically with an imperative not to encroach further on peoples freedom and privacy, not being led by the nose by the likes of a Gilbert and Sullivan costumed police grandee. In fact as a public servant Hogan-Howe should shut up about legislative policy, stop grandstanding in his comic opera uniforms and instead just get on with his job, silently and efficiently. He should advise government through internal channels if called upon to do so, not bring the public service into disrepute by putting his gold-braded hat above the parapet and demonstrating his ignorance of civil service protocol.
May should rein in these wannabe celeb police grandees and their unwanted, inappropriate media interventions.

Parliament has a duty to ensure these
Out walking, saw plenty of idiots selling Socialist News or some such rubbishy newspaper. Tables with red flags upon them and placards stating “Marxism frees Women”! I considered the witch hunt against Greer Gemaine and how the left-inspired students at Cardiff University want her banned for speaking out against ‘transgender’ women, and claiming they are not real women. This woman who always was on the liberal/left side in politics is now being subjected to the tyranny of the left. Free speech and socialism do not go together.

RIPA 2000 was abused by tin pot council and quango officials up and down the land with very little or no oversight by those charged with that responsibility.
Now with DRIPA 2014 or its successor we are now entering the dystopian world of Terry Gilliam’s BRAZIL, 1985 – which we all though was impossibly funny at the time.
MI5 & MI6 have to their job, but something has to be done about curtailing the snooping of those fuckers I mentioned previously!
The politicised police are no longer to be trusted either. They didn’t need any new laws or investigatory powers to tackle the abuse going on in Rotherham and other towns & cities. Their traditional ethos and the willpower to apply and enforce existing laws without fear or favour was all that was required. How many police bosses got sacked over the cover ups?

Interesting link, EC, thanks.
Is there, Baron would like to know, someone who’s asked to have both male and female functioning genitals installed, or rather to have an operation that would add to what he or she was born with without removing the original tool? (There may well be some unfortunate individual who was born with such a defect, but that doesn’t count, and Baron would in no way laugh at him-her, be disrespectful to him-her, but back any help he-she would need to correct the anomaly).
If not, how long will it take for someone to ask for it?
Just think, a genuine man made hermaphrodite, that could be the answer to many a societal ill like prostitution, excessive masturbation, animosity between sexes. It would also eliminate the need for the two parent family, cut the food bill of family units, reduce the need for double beds and many other useful changes that would benefit the mankind.
Come to think of it, Baron may patent this idea, the way the society is moving there may be big money in it, don’t you think?
Colonel Mustard @ 11:40
Apologies for mis-reading your post, Colonel, and a full agreement with your post at 11.40.
Baron often thinks that if those who perished in the war were to re-appear, they would be able to easily accommodate every and each technological change that has happened since the war. What they wouldn’t be able to comprehend, accept and live with, or at least would be hard put to adjust to are the social ‘innovations’, ‘revisions’, and shifts in law essentially forced upon the plebeians from above, without their consent.

It’s the manipulative aspect that is of concern, not their opinions. Lefty extremists who squat on supposedly conservative websites with an apparently orchestrated disruptive agenda and who go to great lengths to conceal their own political allegiance. The motive and behaviour are rather akin to smashing the windows of Jewish shops.
The Spectator appears to have been targeted after Nelson upset the more extreme SNP loons at Wings Over Scotland but the cretins do not obviously project as cybernats and their ‘cloaking’ makes them highly suspect, suggesting that a ‘movement’ is behind it but wants to pretend that it isn’t.
This comes from a reliable source, but you should treat it with caution still:
The next wave of immigrants to hit Europe may come from Ukraine. Last year, 302,800 Ukrainians were granted a temporary permit to reside within the EU (source: Eurostat). Two days ago, the Polish Deputy PM Janusz Piechocinsk was saying in public that ‘Ukraine is close to a social and economic breakdown, Poland could expect another half a million immigrants from the country’. The good thing is not many want to keep on going further west, are happy to stay in the east european members of the EU and, surprisingly, Spain.
What may give an even bigger headache to Brussels is that a number of Polish families are getting together to fight restitution cases against Ukraine. These are the descendants of Polish nationals cleansed from Lvov and other regions that got attached to the USSR after the signing of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact in August, 1939. Some 600 cases have already been lodged with the courts, another 1,200 are in the pipeline. The Poles are fighting the cases under ‘Lvov will be ours again’ (google maps may be helpful here).
One aspect of the American use of drones in Afghanistan is rather shocking. Apparently, one of the criteria the remote operators go by before deciding whether to pull the trigger is the height of the individuals in their sight. British Summer Time ends and the clocks go back at 2am on Sunday, October 25.
Once upon a time every newspaper and radio announcer constantly reminded the public about when Summer Time ended. Not so today.
The way forward:

Malfleur – 05:31
The same thing has been said by Prez Mau-mau.
The BBC website has finally deigned to report the rioting by hooded and masked scum at Kings Cross/St. Pancras light night. The police made no arrests. Why would they? There was nobody waving St George’s Cross or the Union Jack flags.
http://www.breitbart.com/london/2015/10/24/exclusive-video-the-extraordinary-moment-where-pro-migrant-rioters-breakthrough-police-lines-at-london-train-station/
This is how Reuters, the supposedly objective news agency starts its report on today’s polling day in Poland: “Poles vote in an election on Sunday that could end nearly a decade of economic and political stability in the country of 38 million ….”
Then it goes to say the expected winners want nothing to do with immigration, will not let Muslims in, reject the Euro, will ask NATO (read the US) to have massive presence in Poland to stop Russia taking over ….
Nothing wrong with any of it, if this is what the Poles want, but of course, it ain’t what the anointed in Brussels want, hence the two scribblers who penned the stuff had to at least imply ‘stability may end’ if the Kaczynski outfit wins.
As Malfleur above says ‘out’, and soon before it’s too late.
The fact that these days the police invariably report THEMSELVES, with some haste it should be added, to the IPCC make me wonder how “Independent” it actually is.

Malfleur @ 10:28
It has been around for some time, Malfleur, the barbarian has received it from virtually every corner of the globe, including Japan. He doubts it’s genuine, it feels like a fake, the e-mail the TV guy’s reading, even though some of the information the e-mail contains may be based on actual facts.
If the ‘nurse’ were to stick to what she can herself observe, fine. That’s not the case, she comments in a way a girl writing to a friend would seldom if ever do, and her ‘they’re animals’ analogy stinks, a nurse, a proper nurse wouldn’t say that about people, she may say ‘they behave like animals’ if that. Trust Baron on this, he can feel the language of the e-mail well, it’s his mother tongue, it ain’t the language of a nurse, a retired one at that.
More to the point, the anger against the immigrants is akin to pissing against the wind which is good only for someone who doesn’t mind wearing wet and smelly trousers.
Baron has said it before, he knows not everyone here slices the crisis the same way, but he sticks to his trusted AK-47 on it, has no intention to change his mind.
The culprits are those who created the conditions allowing the hordes of immigrants to flood us, the Brussels anointed, our own politicians (including the ghastly Blair), who have enacted a set of statutes that enable people to come, claim this or the other, displace the indigenous unwashed in allocation of social housing, nursery and school places, jobs. These are the guilty party we should kick, avoid voting for, take to justice for deliberately and sans consent altering the centuries evolved way of life.
The swarms of newcomers wouldn’t be here if they couldn’t come, but they can come, they break no laws, if fact, the laws are facilitating their invasion of our shores.
The immigrants, legal or not, law abiding or not, disease ridden to not are doing what we humans do world over, have always done, seek a better life for ourselves.
If we still had control of our borders, some of the laws that enable immigration were absent from the statute books, we would be OK, there would be no human tsunamis of any sort from any part of the world.
Out, out, out of the bloody EU.

What is it with this country? The clocks have gone back and its almost November but the sun comes out and anyone born after 1985 behaves as if it is Brighton Beach on an August Bank Holiday.
Sunday Rant Part the second
What is it with senior church women? The Swedish, supposedly Anglican(?), bishopess who has called for all the Christian symbols in one of her churches to be removed in order to encourage and to not offend multi-denominational worship, is described as a ‘lesbian activist’. Firstly, how can anyone who is an ‘activist’ for a particular identity group in terms of both gender and sexual preference rather than an activist for the church she is supposed to represent be expected to minister equitably to a diverse congregation of men and women with any degree of objectivity or credibility?Secondly why is it that so many senior women in the Anglican church appear to be lesbians?
I wonder if Giles Fraser, as a communist activist in the Church of England, has a view on this?

The Church of Sweden is not part of the Anglican Commune. It is a Lutheran Church (the largest in the world) and as such High Church with Roman forms of worship.
Eva Brunne(!),Bishop of Stockholm,Is the first lesbian Bishop in the world and has a son with her wife, another lesbian priest (rather like Sandi Toksvik, first lesbian chair of BBC QI—unless you count her predecessor,Steven Fry).
The institution she refers to is the Seamen’s Mission and not part of her Diocese.

Thank you for that. I wasn’t sure about the church as I thought I’d seen references to it being connected to the Anglican community. The Bishopess was wearing a CofE type rig.
I was absolutely astounded by the humility of Hollywood actor Kevin Costner’s (of all people) powerful and moving tribute to the British Army.

I really didn’t understand your reference to the Gates of Vienna piece I linked. Were we talking about two different stories?
Anyhow, Gates of Vienna has another story today with the same source. My suggestions here that we think about reviving the right to bear arms have been ignored, dismissed or pooh-poohed. It was implied that I was a crazy expat who would return to the good people of England “waving a Luger”.
Well, good luck to all those when the muslims are given access to the arms caches.
In the meantime, some of our continental cousins, coming under more pressure than us, are a neck ahead in the reality stakes:
http://gatesofvienna.net/2015/10/austrians-are-buying-guns/
But since this is the same Czech TV presenter as in the previous link, perhaps Baron will tell me that this is another fake story recounting a bogus nurse’s emails about something or other.
I am increasingly a Little Red Riding Hood in the modern world which Peter Sutherland, George Soros, George Osborne and other our globalist masters are so lovingly constructing for us…

“My suggestions here that we think about reviving the right to bear arms have been ignored, dismissed or pooh-poohed. It was implied that I was a crazy expat who would return to the good people of England “waving a Luger”.”
Really?
We already have a right to bear arms, vouched by the 1689 Bill of Rights, unrepealed:-
“That the subjects which are Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law”
The snag is that those who now rule over us on behalf of the EU politburo have presumed that the last four words mean that they can introduce any laws they wish to qualify and restrict that right.
The following demonstrates how far the onus is now on the law-abiding citizen not to use force in defence of hearth and home:-
http://www.bsdgb.co.uk/index.php?Information:Law_Relating_to_Self_Defence
The ‘accused’ throughout is presumed to be the person who resorts to force in self defence. Self-defence becomes a defence to prosecution rather than a right:-
http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/self_defence/
The ‘leaflet’ mentioned is here:-
https://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/prosecution/householders.html
The clever part of this is that whilst it conveys nice assurances about self-defence against intruders to the home it still concludes with police and CPS treatment of the householder as the potential offender. This can be considered, sceptically, in the context that the police also now routinely arrest on complaint before any investigation proceeds. A householder who resorts to force to defend himself, his family and his home against a criminal intruder will be treated ‘sympathetically’ by the police and CPS. That is actually a far cry from any real right to self-defence. Whether they do so or not, the state has the right to deprive you of your liberty, fingerprint you and take your DNA before they decide whether your act(s) of self-defence should be prosecuted or not. In reality you have only the right to claim self-defence in your defence against the state. This before any notion of the right to bear arms is even considered.
The qualifications that now restrict by statute the right to self defence were introduced, without fanfare or much, if any, public debate, in 1967:-
s3(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1967:
“A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances in the prevention of crime, or in effecting or assisting in the lawful arrest of offenders or suspected offenders or of persons unlawfully at large.”
More views on this situation:-
http://www.socialaffairsunit.org.uk/blog/archives/000265.php
http://www.socialaffairsunit.org.uk/blog/archives/000219.php
Even the so-called ‘common law’ is now predicated on judgement in a 1988 case:-
“A defendant is entitled to use reasonable force to protect himself, others for whom he is responsible and his property. It must be reasonable.”
Notice that it is ‘a defendant’ who is entitled to use force and for the state to decide, through judicial process, whether that force is ‘reasonable’ or not.
Whether the current situation bears any relation to a historical English right to self-defence of the home is doubtful. It seems that the state has abrogated that right or at least diminished it, in part from the establishment of a police which is relatively recent. It now appears to be in marked contrast to the ‘right’ of the police to routinely use force whether warranted, reasonable or not.
In fact the current judicial situation seems to be in direct conflict with one of Peel’s Principles of Policing:-
“To maintain at all times a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and that the public are the police, the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.”
Hmm.
Malfleur @ 00:49
And what was there in Baron’s posting not to be understood, Malfleur?
The barbarian got the e-mail as an e-mail first from Europe about a month ago, then came two other e-mails containing the said nurse’s email on the plight of the immigrants accommodating Germans, one from Tokyo. The e-mail then reached – inject Baron’s conjecture, supposition or whatever here – an internet TV station based in the Czech republic, the video of a newsreader reading it went viral, barbarian has got it so far from four unrelated sources (includes this blog i.e. you, Malfleur), one of an aristocratic background, most of them deadly anxious a new strain of ebola, TB or other pathogen hitting them soon. Silly really.
Furthermore, what the e-mail says may be true, or at least most of it, but Baron can stake his reputation on saying it “ain’t an email from an ageing and medically trained female”.
Malfleur/Baron (above).
You appear to be talking about two different items.
